Sunstroke is a death dealing condition that is caused by the overexposure to the extreme heat emitted by the sun. Sunstroke sometimes also called as the headstroke. Sunstroke usually occurs when the heat control system of the body becomes failed and it stops loosing excessive heat. Due to the higher temperatures the major organs of body fail to perform their functions.

Mental and verbal confusion may occur, as well. Fumbling during speech and unintelligible speech may occur as well as the appearance of violent behavior.

In severe conditions, the victim of sunstroke may get hallucinations. Rising in the temperature of the body is very common and due to it convulsion may occur, as well. The sufferer may become unconscious finally.

The lengthy exposure to the extreme heat and higher temperatures is the cause of initiating sunstroke. Heat exhaustion is also described as the cause of sunstroke. People who do outdoor work are more likely to become the victim of sunstroke. People who do a lot of exercise for long time without taking enough fluid are also highly susceptible.

Children and older people are highly susceptible for sunstroke; however, anyone can be the victim of sunstroke. IF the body is already suffering from a serious illness or has been through serious illness, then it is highly susceptible. Usage of clothing that is not suitable for higher temperatures can also be cause of the occurrence of sunstroke.

Certain medicines, such as beta blockers, Antidepressants, and diuretics contribute to the onset of sunstroke and in certain cases they have been found as having a sever affect on the heat control system of body. Sudden muscle spasm and cramps are also recognized as the symptoms of sunstroke.

A stay in the hospital is required if the sufferer is suffering from extreme condition. During sunstroke, body temperature is need t be lowering down a.s.a.p. By an intravenous drip, replace the fluids and salt of the body. The sufferer should be kept under observation in order to maintain and check the temperature conditions and also to check for complications.
